Based in Boston, veteran-owned and operated Blue Cord Management provides leadership development, coaching, training and consulting services. Launched in 2016, the consultancy’s mission is to transform ‘good management’ into ‘visionary leadership’.
BCM’s founder Ed Brzychcy uses strategies and techniques inspired by his military experience. He served with distinction for twelve years from 1999 to 2011 as an intelligence analyst and infantryman, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, and leading squads of up to a dozen soldiers during three combat deployments to Iraq.
After leaving the military, Ed earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a major in Business Administration with an Entrepreneurship Concentration and Economics Minor. Ed was later awarded a Master of Business Administration degree and membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society from Babson College where he participated in and directed consulting projects with clients including Converse Shoes and Fidelity Investments.
Ed is committed to supporting services to veterans. He works in close collaboration with local agencies to promote veterans’ entrepreneurship plans and help them succeed after leaving the military.
Ed is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of his alma mater, Salem State University and holds an Adjunct Professor position at Endicott College in Beverly, MA where he teaches classes in Business Fundamentals and Leadership.

The Blue Cord
During the Korean War, General “Lightning Joe” Collins, Chief of Staff for the Army, asked a group of advisors what could be done to enhance the morale of the fighting infantryman. It was decided that they would receive a special insignia so that everyone would know that the soldier was an infantryman who would be fighting on the front lines.
It’s fitting that founder Ed Brzychcy chose Blue Cord Management as his consultancy’s name. It reflects his unique perspective gained from experience as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and Squad Leader. He applies many of the lessons he learned then to helping clients prevail in today’s highly competitive business environment.
